Andy Musits, MD, MS

Andrew Musits, MD, MS has a passion for improving patient care and safety through innovative and engaging education. His primary interests include curriculum development and implementation for all levels of trainees and practicing professionals. His background and experiences include educational research, faculty development, and systems evaluation through in-situ simulation. 

During his academic career, Dr. Musits most recently served as Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine (Clinical) at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. He held leadership roles as Director of the Brown Health Simulation Center and Director of the Brown Emergency Medicine Simulation Fellowship. After over a decade of clinical practice, he recently stepped away from these roles to focus on simulation-based education while spending more time with his young family.

Dr. Musits earned his medical degree from Albany Medical College, and completed his Emergency Medicine residency at Albany Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident. He holds a Master of Science in Medical Education from the University of Pittsburgh and completed a two-year Fellowship in Medical Education and Simulation with the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh, in collaboration with the Winter Institute for Simulation, Education, and Research (WISER). 

His contributions have been recognized with several honors, including the Outstanding Service Award from the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (2021) and the Award for Educational Innovation from Rhode Island ACEP (2021). He was also selected as an inaugural participant in the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine’s Emerging Leader Program (2022).
