Ohio ACEP Launches NIX Opiates Campaign

We are proud to announce the launch of the NIX Opiates campaign to fight teen opioid abuse in Ohio. Led by our own Dr. Ryan Squier, the NIX Opiates campaign will bring emergency physicians into Ohio high schools to speak candidly with students and parents about addiction, drug abuse, and overdose.

The first NIX Opiates presentations at Olentangy Orange High School received outstanding feedback from parents and students alike and gained positive coverage from Central Ohio media outlets, including this story on NBC 4 Columbus.

As part of the program, Ohio ACEP, Dr. Squier, and Alexander Rogers of Post Epic Video, produced a powerful short film to accompany the presentation. Check out the trailer for “I Ask Myself Why”.

Will You Join Us? We need physician leaders to partner with us to bring NIX Opiates to communities around Ohio. Ohio ACEP is developing a presenter kit which includes presentation, resources, contact information, and steps to implement a NIX Opiates presentation in your local school district.
