Dr. David Keseg Receives Copass Award

On February 25, it was announced that Dr. David Keseg received the 2012 Michael Keys Copass Award at the annual Gathering of the Eagles – The EMS State of the Science Conference in Dallas, Texas.

Dr. Keseg has served as Medical Director for the Columbus Division of Fire for 25 years and has practiced emergency medicine for 33 years. A Fellow for the American College of Emergency Physicians, Dr. Keseg currently oversees over 110,000 emergency runs each year.

Awarded annually by the U.S. Metropolitan Municipalities EMS Medical Directors Consortium, the Copass Award recognizes one Emergency Medical Services Director for outstanding leadership, contributions and service as a role model in the area of out-of-hospital emergency medical care. The prestigious distinction is named in honor of Dr. Michael Keys Copass, Medical Director of the Seattle Fire Department’s Medic One program, who is widely regarded as the quintessential model of excellence in EMS medical direction.
