Invitation to Join a National Expert Panel: Children's Safety Initiative in EMS

Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) – in partnership with the National Association of EMS Physicians, the National Association of State EMS Officials, the EMS Medical Directors Consortium, and the American Academy of Pediatrics Subcommittee on EMS – is beginning a National Institutes of Health-funded research study of the safety and quality of prehospital EMS care for children. This week, OHSU released an invitation to participate in an expert panel to develop national safety indicators and guidelines for prehospital EMS care of children. Panelists will help identify key issues involved in such care and the input provided may lead to changes in national guidelines and standards of care.

The invitation is for all EMS professionals, including EMTs, physicians, medical directors, program managers, and directors. To participate, send a note of interest to storc@ohsu.edu,
