SB 58 Informational Sessions Being Presented by Ohio EMS

Senate Bill 58, which includes provisions for EMS providers to withdraw blood for the purpose of evidence collection in cases involving allegations of operating watercraft or vehicles under the influence, was signed by Governor Strickland on June 18, 2010. The provisions within the Bill became law on September 17, 2010. The EMS Board is authorized by the Bill to adopt rules addressing the withdrawal of blood by EMS.

The Ohio Division of EMS will provide 11 informational sessions around the State to address SB58 and provide discussion between legal representatives, law enforcement representatives, Medical Directors and EMS agency personnel.
